This is one of them most miraculous survival stories that took place during World War II. It is year 1943 and twelve saboteurs on a fishing boat are caught by German soldiers. Eleven of them are being tortured and killed, the twelve - Jan Baalsrud, manages to escape. Although he is shot in the foot, drenched and with a hundred meters of lead, Jan Baalsrud makes an amazing two-month escape into the merciless Northern Norse winter with Gestapo in his heels. Supported by many people, Jan Baalsrud becomes a symbol of the Norwegian resistance movement against the Nazi regime.
